A Jeep Wrangler JK can already run some pretty big tires, but if you’re looking to stuff some even bigger tires under those fender flares (35s maybe?) then a body lift may be the way to go. A body lift is cheap and easy to install on a JK, and won’t make your ride quality suffer.
The Good:
- It’s cheap
- It’s easy to install (a couple of hours with common hand tools
- Doesn’t change the ride or suspension of your TJ at all
The Bad
- Too much body lift can cause problems. It will put a strain on the bolts that connect your Jeep’s body to the frame, and in the event of a accident, or impact, these bolts can break. The JWP crew like to keep body lifts under 2 inches.
- A big body lift looks goofy
