While light guards aren’t anything new, these Clear Bay 4×4 Light Guards seem to do a good job of balancing quality construction with good pride. These guards are designed to cover your JK’s headlights, the turn signals (the ones on your grill), and the tail lights. The idea is to protect your light from tree branches, brush, or anything else that may pop up on the road or trail.
Our thoughts
The all steel construction feels good, and the finish is pretty good. This kit comes with 6 light guards (headlights, taillights, and front grill turn signals). Some other kits include the bumper fog light covers, but if you have anything other than the base model JK the fog light covers won’t fit (so save your money).
The install
The installation instructions are probably the thing that makes this kit. Stuffed in the box with the light guards was an instruction manual that was 8 pages long! It seemed a bit excessive at first (i.e. step one, put on safety glasses…) but it’s better to have too detailed instructions that none at all.
